Owners-Ed and Mots Darbyshire It doesn't seem very often that someone loves their jobs these days but, we have enjoyed almost every moment. It has been our pleasure to operate this company. The best part for me (Ed) is driving taxi, although I don't get out much. There has been some very interesting challenges over the years. "Hope to see you soon". Mots does the books, and keeps the company on track. The daily sheets that the guys fill out are a never ending process. Keeping the billings up to date is a main priority. In our sanity time, you might see us flying over in our four seater Cessna 172, CF-CFX, working in our wood working shop, or riding our four passenger pedal bike. |
Manager-Bill Hindley Bill has been manager for two years and looks after the day to day operations of the company. He has a great sense of humor and when needed a very serious side. He prides himself in making sound business decisions. |
Sheri has been our primary daytime dispatcher. She also does data entry and keeps Bill and myself in line. If you call Mon-Fri between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, chance are very high you will be taking to Sheri. |
Mechanic- Larry Larry maintains the taxi's with a little help from local businesses. It is a full time job keeping 10 taxi's and 5 buses on the go in the winter months. He is a very easy going older gentleman and is single. More recently (spring of 2004), you may have met Larry on hi-way 3 riding his bicycle to work. He too is feeling the gas prices. |
Full time Fernie Staff 4 persons The Fernie Staff are very friendly older gentlemen, except for Nick, (he's young, but friendly too). They pride themselves in doing the best job possible and trying to assist customers in many different ways, from carrying luggage to helping you find the restaurant that most might appeal to your individual request. Most of the trips are local metered fares, but they do help out in Sparwood on the occasion. Black pants, white shirts and ties are the normal dress code. |

Part-time Fernie Staff Part time staff is required for season employment. The winter months (ski season) are very busy in Fernie. As many as 15 additional persons may be hired for part-time taxi driver positions during the ski season. |
These are the persons who drive the friendly purple buses to and from the ski hill (during ski season only). There is usually up to 6 persons employed for these positions. Some of the drivers operate other seasonal jobs around the area in the summer months. |
Sparwood Staff 9 persons Sparwood Staff do crew transfers for CP Rail, this keeps them very busy some days and fishing by the river on other days. Most of the staff in Sparwood have been with the company for more than 3 years, a couple of the guys have been here over 6 years. |
| Overall: As the owners of this company we are very pleased to have everyone of our employees with us. They are all great individuals and do a great job for us. We think they are the BEST STAFF any company could have. |
